Hey Guys,
I know it's been a while, but I
wanted to share this exciting experience. Tuesday, September 27, 2016 I booked
an extra role in Tyler Perry's untitled feature film, which will be released
sometime in 2017. I played the role of a college faculty member during a
graduation ceremony. I really didn't care what role I’d play, shoot! This
is Tyler Perry were talking about. I'll play the woman on drugs, the abusive
mother, and the pregnant teen, “YOU NAME IT! I saw Tyler Perry's name on the
casting site and I submitted for it. Lol
Meeting Tyler Perry and working with
him has always been one of my biggest dreams. He's such a talented and blessed
man. As I sat on the train headed to Atlanta, GA I was praying I get the chance
to actually see and meet Tyler Perry. Forgetting that I had just booked the
job. I was more impressed with the opportunity of meeting him. So, now I am on
set and I'm changing into wardrobe, getting hair and makeup done. I begin
talking to a woman and we're sharing details on how we both heard about the
casting and etc. I asked if she had ever worked previous jobs with Tyler Perry
and she replied "No, but I heard he's always present whenever he's
shooting a film and he's very punctual. Right then, I knew my dream would come
true. Although my role was small, it felt big. Again, it was the opportunity of
meeting Tyler Perry. That's a Big deal!
His Produces and studio staff
had everyone lineup to transport us to where the scene was being shot. Once we
arrived we exited the bus and take our places. Now, I'm standing to the side
and look up, there I see Tyler Perry standing right in front me. I didn't even
notice him. He was dressed in dingy clothing, and looked as if he had just got
out of bed, Lol. I was shocked. We made eye contact; I waved my hand and smiled.
I wanted to take a picture with him so bad, but no cell phones were allowed on
set. Shooting that scene was every bit of 10 minutes. Yep! That’s it. However,
it was the best 10 minutes of my life. I did what I was told and that was a
wrap!
My dream had come true. So, the next
time I work with Tyler Perry, I'll be playing a co-star role or Lead role.
In Jesus name!
See y'all in 2017! Peace :-)
